Hi guys! With the holiday season upon us and the associated spending, I thought I’d share some prescription skincare options that won’t break the bank.
These are all products I’ve personally been using and they have worked wonders for me:
Retinol:
Retacnyl – Tretinoin: This is the strongest retinol you can get, highly effective against acne, anti-aging, and boosting skin cell turnover. However, it may not be suitable for all skin types due to its strength. You need a prescription to get it in Singapore, but here’s a pro tip: head over to JB (Johor Bahru), where you can get it at their pharmacies at a fraction of the cost, no prescription needed!
Epiduo – Differin + Benzoyl Peroxide: Another effective combination for acne treatment.
Fungal Acne:
When it’s hot and humid, it tends to trigger my fungal acne. I’ve been using this to keep my fungal acne at bay for years now. It’s effective and affordable. Just dab it on affected areas, and you should see improvement within 2-3 days.
Azelaic Acid:
I love azelaic acid because it doesn’t interact with other ingredients, meaning you can use it even with retinol. It’s great for general skin brightening and treating hyperpigmentation. It’s even used for rosacea treatment, making it suitable for sensitive skin. While you can get it over the counter in Singapore, I prefer buying it in JB for a third of the price.
Eczema Treatments:
Uniflex and Egocort: I’m not exactly sure what the difference is between the two, but I use them interchangeably. Sometimes one seems more effective than the other!
